  2009 OCAR Education Policies

We will attempt to accommodate every member who has made a timely reservation; however, please note that all classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If a sufficient number of students are on a waiting list a month or more prior to commencement, we will make every effort to schedule an additional class.

Realtor members with accounts that are outstanding may not receive continuing education credit for attending courses.  CE credit will be issued upon receipt of payment.

Cancellation Charges for Confirmed Reservations:

An administrative fee of $10 will be charged for all course cancellations.  For reservations not cancelled at least two (2) weeks prior to the start date, registrants will be required to pay a $50 cancellation fee.

No-Show Policy:

Reservations must be honored; failure to cancel a course will result in a charge of the non-member price for the course

Charges for Waiting List Cancellations:

If you register to be placed on the waiting list for any course, you may cancel your waiting list registration at any time prior to the day before a class begins.  ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT A SPACE HAS BEEN RESERVED FOR YOU IN A COURSE, NORMAL CANCELLATION CHARGES FOR CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS WILL APPLY (See above policy).

Attendance Requirements:

In order to receive continuing education credit for any course, you must attend 100% of class time.  If you leave the classroom for any reason, you will jeopardize your ability to receive credit for the attended course.

You must sign in and out of each course session (this includes lunch breaks, etc.), as required.  Any student arriving more than ten minutes past the start time of a class session, or leaving prior to the conclusion of class, will not receive continuing education credit.  If you so arrive more than ten minutes late you will be permitted to enter the class if space is still available, and you will not receive a No-Show fee: however, you will not receive continuing education credit.

Class Conduct:

Holding conversations in and outside the classroom during class time, recruiting for employment opportunities, distributing listing information or promotional items, asking questions which are not of general interest to the class can result in expulsion from the class.  OCAR reserves the right to expel students from class for what the Education Department deems disruptive behavior.

Cell Phones:

Cell phones must be turned OFF during class.  Cell phones may only be used while on designated breaks and only in designated areas, not in the classroom, restrooms, reception area or administrative offices.

We hope all members understand the necessity of implementing stringent rules and guidelines for our program and appreciate your anticipated cooperation honoring them. We believe that as an OCAR member, you will be offered the best education program possible.
